IECEx generator and alternator

Ampco generators and alternators are manufactured to IECEx standards and ATEX directive, International Ex design for hazardous areas zone 1 and zone 2 applications.

Ampco are manufacturers of Zone 1 and Zone 2 generators for operation in offshore and onshore oil and gas industry, hazardous atmospheres and hostile environments. All hazardous area generators are of the highest quality, built to the latest British, European and International standards and certified by the relevant national authorities. Ampco hazardous area generators are operating in hostile environments throughout the world, on offshore and onshore oil and gas rigs and production platforms, safely and efficiently delivering power with minimal attention over long periods.

Established in 1990, we have been involved with the major energy companies, main specifiers and contractors, testimony to the expertise and reputation of the hazardous area generators we manufacture.

Ampco's range includes zone 1 generators and zone 2 generators which meet relevant directives and certification standards, including IECEx, ATEX and NEC requirements.

IECEx certification confirms the generators have the appropriate protection for use in explosive atmospheres and are manufactured under systems which are subject to ongoing surveillance by the certified body.

Quality Assurance

Stringent quality procedures are observed from first design to finished product in accordance with the ISO9001 documented quality systems, an assurance that only the highest possible standards of quality are accepted.

Quality Testing

All hazardous area generators are inspected to strict engineering tolerances. All components are thoroughly checked for quality, standard and material specification and are subjected to mechanical and electrical tests at first, intermediate and final stages of manufacture. Individual hazardous area generators are also tested to specific customer requirements.
